Oh, friend.  I see you.  I understand you.  You have feelings, you have thoughts.  You express them, and you wonder how you were left holding the strings of a friendship that ends up looking like the end of a murder scene.  You're left wondering WHAT happened in a conversation, or in a situation that escalated quickly.
I've been where you are.  I've said my piece, spoken my mind, only to have it rain on my parade.  Sometimes people can be kind, and sometimes they are downright rude and ugly.  I can't explain it, but I do know it seems to be a reality and/or a fact of life these days.
I can't explain why people are rude.  I can't believe people are resorting to name-calling, and that's just here on social media.  In some places, the vitriol is MUCH worse.
I can't explain why people have put so much on the line right now; namely, the friendships they at one time cherished, all in the name of some ideology.  We all have primary convictions, and we all have ideologies.  At some point in the world, I grew up with the thought that we could all get along, as long as we can talk.
Somewhere along the way we lost our ability to talk.
Somewhere along the way people stopped valuing the opinions of those with opposing views.
Somewhere along the way we forgot people on our social media still were people.
But that said, hear me.  Pull your chair up and lean really close.
No matter what someone has said to you, no matter how many people have unfriended or blocked you, I want to make sure you don't forget something.
Your voice MATTERS.
You occupy this space right now on purpose and by design.
Your voice is NEEDED right now.
Yes, you get to figure out how to share it.
No, I can't tell you what to do or how to do it.
It might depend a lot on your personal design, your audience, your passion, and your message.
But you are here right now for such a time as this, and I think it would be a shame if you didn't contribute in your way. Your voice is needed, and I think our world would suffer and be worse off if you didn't share it.
Speak up!!!
