WHO YOU CAN FOLLOW TO GET MORE INFORMATION about Carnivore Diet!

I break the sources for great info on Carnivore into two categories – professionals (doctors), and lifestyle
content creators.

I do not diagnose, prescribe, treat, or recommend anything to anyone – on my channel I share what
works for me. You will have to take responsibility for your own health and consult your doctor if you
have any questions. I am not a doctor, and I do not play one on TV!

DOCTORS, their channels, and relevant books:

I follow so many more people, but I make sure I catch as many of the videos the above creators have done, as possible!

CELEBRATE with Me!

CELEBRATE with Me!

My postal worker just paid me the biggest compliment ever!

Postal Worker: Hey beautiful!
Me: (oh, she’s talking to me!) Hey there!
PW: You have lost a lot of weight! Are you OK?
Me: (why do we think people aren’t OK when they’ve lost weight?) Thanks!

PW: I hadn’t seen you in a while! I used to see you walking all the time and here you are! You look
great!
Me: Thanks! I am eating a lot of protein – I put myself on an extreme elimination diet and I actually
haven’t felt better in a long time!
PW: Well, you look great! I’m glad you feel great too!

Gosh, I am just on cloud 9, still! What a compliment! I know I feel great, and I know I’m more muscular
now than before! I got kinda squishy before. Remember – I think I was the poster child for “skinny fat”
but I also know I got up to pregnancy weight when I wasn’t pregnant! I definitely had a lot of
inflammation that I feel so good having let go of.

What Eating is like since starting the Carnivore diet!

What Eating is like since starting the Carnivore diet!

I didn’t really “start” the Carnivore Diet, per se. What’s really interesting about “ways of eating” is that
transitioning from one to another can be fluid, as it should be. I do not believe we should be so rigid as
to say “I eat like this, or tomorrow I’m starting that.” Just eat! I caught one video of a Carnivore
criticizing another Carnivore because of what they ate. If it works for them, let them be!

Anyway, I said before that what transitioned me to the Carnivore way of eating was education and trial.
The first video I watched on the subject was a video by Dr. Ken Berry .

He also did a video about the BBBE diet with a very alluring name

I had stalled out on weight and inflammation levels, probably because I had trouble not eating nuts. So I
started with the Egg Fast  and then did it over without much of a break.

,
I felt SO good I kept going! I did another egg fast right after my first egg fast, then never
really stopped. Since the Carnivore way of eating is essentially an extreme elimination diet, I just kept
expanding my menu until I discovered what triggered inflammation. I first added beef and bacon, after
eating eggs and butter, and then expanded to chicken and pork.

I found that as I started allowing myself meat, eggs, butter, and cheese, I could not get enough meat
and eggs for a while. I wondered for a while if I would ever calm down my eating, or get over this
massive hunger I was experiencing!

After watching Kelly Hogan, I felt better knowing she was also just consuming massive amounts of meat until her hunger settled down. And sure enough, I went through spurts of insane hunger or pangs to eat, within the first two months of eating strictly carnivore. However, that has calmed down and I
can predict how much meat I will eat, and prepare to eat at roughly the same time every day. Right
now, I am actually hungry, though, so upon finishing this post I’ll go eat the ground beef I have prepared
already.

I would also say do not limit yourself to how much meat you eat! It will be more than you have eaten
before because when it’s all you eat, you WILL eat more. In subsequent posts, I’ll talk about quantities
and grocery lists. It’s SO much simpler in planning than any other food plan you’ve ever followed! It’s
so easy on life! So let yourself enjoy that.

You might now be wondering how healthy this is. Will you get your nutrients? What about Vitamin C?
How about electrolytes? In the next blog post, I’ll point you to several doctors you can follow who all
discuss all these issues. I will not do so in detail, since they as licensed professionals do so very well.
You can consult these doctors to get informed so that you can make sound decisions for yourself!

How and Why I Started the Carnivore Diet

How and Why I Started the Carnivore Diet
Everyone I know seems to have a "way they eat." There are as many reasons for their choices as there are individuals!

I grew up running long distances with my family.  As I advanced in school, I joined the track and then the cross country teams.  Friday nights before big races on Saturdays were full of "carbo-loading" to make sure we had enough energy for our races the next morning.

Fast forward to my 30s when I inexplicably injured myself, and I started having trouble exercising.  It was then that I noticed weight gain and that it got harder to motivate myself to exercise.

I developed gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my son, but not until very late in my pregnancy.  I do remember being exhausted during that pregnancy, but I didn't help myself by indulging in my pregnancy cravings, mostly for potatoes, bread, pizza, and French fries.

He was born in 2009, and I was fine until 2012.  I even started exercising again and losing weight!  I lost LOTS of weight in 2012 but though friends suggested I could be losing weight because I might have diabetes, I invited l ignored them.  "I was hypoglycemic growing up!  I'm sure I don't have diabetes," I often thought.

WRONG!

I ended up in the hospital in an emergency, with a blood sugar over 600 mg/dl.  That's the level at which you could be in a coma or die.

That began my quest for the best way for me to eat.  I happen to think many would benefit from this way of life.
I started eating Paleo.  While I ate that way, I did ok if I didn't have carbs.  Go figure.  But everybody I followed would make these amazing date and sweet potato meals and those caused me trouble.  Squash even caused me trouble!  I ditched it after a couple of years.

I then had a friend suggest a form of the vegan diet.  I won't give too many details because I think that would too easily identify this way of eating, and there's a trademark involved.  Suffice it to say that it didn't work for me. I started becoming constantly lethargic, lost muscle tone, lost stamina, had trouble remembering things.

In January 2021, I got a nudge from the Lord to start the ketogenic diet.  For info on that, start here
  or here.

I did lose 25 pounds, but I learned that I had massive food cravings I had lots of trouble controlling. Also, my HbA1C was 6.8, which was way higher than I expected.  A year later, in January 2022, I had seen some videos about the carnivore diet, but at the time I thought that was crazy.  However, I was so devastated by my blood sugar levels and struggle I had craving foods that negatively affected my blood sugar.

I tried the Egg Fast ( Click here ) and I felt SO good and had SUCH good blood sugar that I didn’t want to stop after the normal 3-5 days!  So I just kept going.  I did move to what’s called BBBE ,
and the rest is history. Because I wanted to focus on how I landed on the Carnivore Diet, I’m wrapping this post up here.  Be sure to follow my blog, where I’ll talk about my healing journey using food, and share life hacks and faith and outlook tips.  Thanks for tuning in!  Be sure to sign up here and follow my YouTube channel.
